God Gave Us Love
By Lisa Tawn Bergren
God Gave Us Love by Lisa Tawn Bergren (art by Laura J. Bryant) is a board book for little hands about a bear cub whose grandfather is trying to teach him to love everybody because God loves everybody. The illustrations in the book are well done, they are in color, and my son loves to look at the pictures. However the story of the book are a little advanced for small children because of the length. My son does not have the attention span to read the whole book word for word. I do like that the book tells children that although we do not always feel like loving others choosing to do so is always the right choice. It also tells children that they can never do anything to make it so that God does not love them. I think these two concepts are very important for children to learn and understand. I would recommend this book because it teaches children important lessons and is not just a story full of “fluff”.
I received a complimentary copy of God Gave Us Love for review purposes. This did not influence my review and all opinions are 100% mine.
